On August 22-24, 2025, the Henry Budd College for Ministry (HBCM) will
celebrate its 45th anniversary. Initiated by Bishop John Conlin, the Henry Budd Christian Training Centre officially opened its doors on September 20, 1980. Changing its name to Henry Budd College for Ministry in 1991, HBCM has provided opportunities for people to express the teachings of Jesus within their own unique Cree, Métis, and northern cultures and contexts.
The weekend’s celebrations are an opportunity to share teachings, memories,
music, and food, and to acknowledge the work of past and present students and staff.
Come out and help us celebrate the ongoing challenges and rewards of the College’s 45-year legacy of bringing practical and contextual Christian training into people’s homes and
communities throughout northern Manitoba and beyond. On Friday, August 22, we’ll host a time of teaching and memory-sharing at Henry Budd College – 403 Larose Ave. We’ll be at the Kikiwak Inn on Saturday, August 23 for more teachings, sharing, and of course, an evening Gospel Jamboree. And on Sunday, August 24, we’ll have a joint celebration service at Church of the Messiah. Please visit the Henry Budd College for Ministry Facebook page or see the attached schedule.
